Pant Hoots and Long Calls with Patti Ragan from the Center for Great Apes

Patti Ragan is the Founder and Director for the Center for Great Apes, an award-winning, private, non-profit sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees. Based in Florida, the sanctuary rescues apes from unsuitable situations. The sanctuary is home to 15 orangutans and 30 chimpanzees (meet them here). These intelligent, endangered animals have been rescued from the exotic pet trade, labs, the entertainment industry and other unsuitable situations.

Scout has been supporting the Center for Great Apes since she was six years old by asking friends to bring donations to her birthday parties instead of presents. In 2014, Scout started the Ape Ambassadors – a club for kids who want to make a difference in there community and support the Center for Great Apes. In less than three months, the club raised more than $2,000 for the Center for Great Apes. Little kids have a huge impact!
